Student Rally @ the statehouse

Today students rallied at the state house to support the new budget cuts and show that we do care about our education. we also wanted to thank and bribe state representatives to go with adding new taxes to meals and hotels in order to save programs we need as youth from getting cut in boston public schools. As a youth leader for Sociedad Latina it was one of my responsiblities to be there. I met lots of new youth who were fighting for the same cause as i was. I spoke personally with rep jeff sanchez on how important it is to keep these music programs , extra cirricular activities and and non-profit organizations like Sociedad Latina. It was also very important to show them that even though we are youth we do care , and we know what we need. we need our teachers , we need our books. We need education. The country has tons of debt but if we all put our heads together we can find other ways to make money to go to what we love to do the most / we know for a fact that many many things will be cut for next year but hopefully we can make it as little as possible. hopefully our voices were heard as youth and as members of the community. you'll def hear MORE about this as soon as i do. - the key thing that i wanted to really get across here was that no matter what the cause you should ALL stand up for what you beleive in and what you think is right. the little people coming together to tell the "big" people what to do is what makes CHANGE !
